KOSTAL PLENTICORE G3 15 kW is a three-phase hybrid inverter designed for larger photovoltaic installations and systems working with high-voltage energy storage. It is the base power variant in the PLENTICORE G3 L class, intended for installations with high energy demand and offering the option of future power expansion without replacing the inverter.

The 15 kW model can operate as a PV, hybrid or battery inverter. Battery functionality can also be activated at a later stage, allowing the system to be installed initially as a standard PV system and later expanded with a battery. PLENTICORE G3 features three independent MPPT trackers, while one of the DC inputs can be used either as a PV input or as a battery input.

15 kW as the entry point to the L class

The PLENTICORE G3 15 kW version is the base power level of the L-class device. If power demand increases, the inverter can be digitally upgraded to 17.5 kW and then to 20 kW without replacing the device. The upgrade is carried out by activating the appropriate KOSTAL function.

This gives the 15 kW model substantial expansion potential for installations that already require high power from the outset and may be further extended in the future.

High power for PV and energy storage

PLENTICORE G3 15 kW features three DC inputs and three independent MPPTs. DC3 can be used to connect either a PV array or a compatible energy storage system. For the 15 kW version, the maximum PV generator power is 22.5 kWp, while the maximum battery input power is 21 kW.

Once the battery function has been activated, the inverter can store surplus energy generated by the PV system and use it at a later time, increasing self-consumption and energy management flexibility in larger installations.

Three-phase backup power up to 20 kVA

PLENTICORE G3 supports three-phase backup power. When combined with an energy storage system and a suitable external switching device, the system can continue supplying loads during a grid outage.

In the L class, the inverter can provide up to 20 kVA of rated apparent power in backup mode, providing high power availability even for more demanding systems.

Intelligent energy management

The inverter is equipped with a self-learning shade management system, dynamic power control and functions for measuring and controlling energy flows. Support for Modbus / SunSpec enables integration with automation and Smart Home systems.

Communication interfaces include WLAN, two LAN ports and four digital outputs. The system can be monitored via KOSTAL Solar Portal and the KOSTAL Solar App, while the AutoUpdate function allows the inverter software to be updated automatically.
