KOSTAL PLENTICORE G3 4 kW is a three-phase hybrid inverter designed for residential photovoltaic installations and systems working with high-voltage energy storage. It is the base power variant in the PLENTICORE G3 S class, developed for smaller installations where the option of future expansion without replacing the inverter is important.

The 4 kW model can operate as a PV, hybrid or battery inverter. Battery functionality can also be activated at a later stage, allowing the system to be installed initially as a standard PV system and later expanded with a battery. PLENTICORE G3 features three independent MPPT trackers, while one of the DC inputs can be used either as a PV input or as a battery input.

4 kW today, more power in the future

The PLENTICORE G3 4 kW version is the base power level of the S-class device. If power demand increases, the inverter can be digitally upgraded to 5.5 kW and then to 7 kW without replacing the device itself. The upgrade is carried out by activating the appropriate KOSTAL function.

This solution makes it possible to select the inverter according to the current system size while retaining the option of increasing system power later without replacing the inverter with a higher-power model.

Ready for energy storage

PLENTICORE G3 4 kW features three DC inputs and three independent MPPTs. DC3 can be used to connect either a PV array or a compatible energy storage system. For the 4 kW version, the maximum PV generator power is 6 kWp, while the maximum battery input power is 6 kW.

Once the battery function has been activated, the inverter can store surplus energy generated by the PV system and use it at a later time, increasing self-consumption.

Three-phase backup power

PLENTICORE G3 supports three-phase backup power. When combined with an energy storage system and a suitable external switching device, the system can continue supplying loads during a grid outage.

In the S class, the inverter can provide up to 7 kVA of rated apparent power in backup mode, leaving reserve capacity for a future power upgrade.

Intelligent energy management

The inverter is equipped with a self-learning shade management system, dynamic power control and functions for measuring and controlling energy flows. Support for Modbus / SunSpec enables integration with automation and Smart Home systems.

Communication interfaces include WLAN, two LAN ports and four digital outputs. The system can be monitored via KOSTAL Solar Portal and the KOSTAL Solar App, while the AutoUpdate function allows the inverter software to be updated automatically.
