CBS5000-BCU is the central control unit (Battery Control Unit) designed to manage high-voltage battery modules CBS5000-BMU. It is responsible for monitoring the operation of the entire battery stack, system safety, and communication with Sofar hybrid inverters.
The BCU allows the creation of flexible energy storage configurations – from several modules in a single cabinet to large-scale systems with capacities reaching hundreds of kWh through parallel cabinet connection. The unit operates within a voltage range of 600–1000 V DC, ensuring high system efficiency and compatibility with industrial Sofar inverters (e.g. HYD series).
Integrated protection functions, active energy balancing between modules, and automatic configuration detection at startup (“one-button commissioning”) significantly simplify system deployment. The BCU is also equipped with a built-in heater, enabling safe battery charging at low temperatures.
The IP66 protection rating and air cooling ensure stable and long-term operation in industrial environments, even under increased environmental and operational requirements.

Sofar CBS5000 energy storage system combines the CBS5000-BMU battery module with a capacity of 5.12 kWh and the CBS5000-BCU control unit, creating a scalable high-voltage energy storage solution for commercial and industrial applications. The system is based on safe LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) technology, ensuring long service life, high efficiency, and stable operation over a wide temperature range.
The built-in optimizer and active energy equalization between modules ensure better utilization of the entire system capacity. The integrated heater enables safe charging at low temperatures, while the IP66 protection rating and intelligent air cooling increase reliability and resistance to environmental conditions. Communication via CAN allows seamless integration with the latest generation Sofar hybrid inverters, including the HYD series designed for commercial use.
